Pham Ba Hai, born in 1968, Nguyen Ngoc Quang, born in 1964 and Vu Hoang Hai, born in 1965, are on trial at the HCMC People’s Court. The men are all city residents.
According to the indictment, Ba Hai studied and worked in India but often returned to Viet Nam to contact Quang and Hoang Hai in order to set up the group. In March 2006, Ba Hai announced the establishment of “Bach Dang Giang” and named him president, Quang as vice president, and Hoang Hai a member.
The three men opened a website and posted many writings against Viet Nam by distorting facts and inciting students to oppose the Vietnamese State. They had stored many documents that distort history.
Additionally, Ba Hai had his men to select students who are children of those who exited Viet Nam illegally for scholarships to study in India in order to incite the students to act against the Vietnamese State.
